Mania is a song out of a collection of unreleased freestyle songs recorded by Kyle with an acoustic guitar during the early stages of writing this album. The series of freestyles was from a variety of songs that each had different emotions associated with them. Rage Against The Machine Gun Kelly Clarkson pt. 1& 2 are also part of the same series of acoustic freestyles of emotions, and were respectively care-free-ness and clarity.

The overarching lyrical structure of the song is designed to create a narrative of the process of navigating a particularly difficult mental state while allowing the message to be timeless and thought provoking by not developing too much time to an illustrious backstory.
